Stewardship Campaign 2026

Dear People of Holy Comforter,

We, each of us, are Holy Comforter. I write to you with profound gratitude for the vital part you play in the life of our parish. Our growing membership, our increasing focus on serving youth and children, the foot traffic from Broomfield STEM, the Women’s Gathering, Broomfield Children’s Chorus, and our various other community partnerships bear witness to the strength of our parish and also to the faithfulness of God. As we prepare our budget for 2026, please reflect on God’s faithfulness towards you this past year and how that faithfulness translates into your pledge for the coming year.

This year’s stewardship theme, “I am Holy Comforter,” is drawn from Jesus’s sacred words in John’s Gospel: “I am the vine; you are the branches” (15:5). Here, Jesus is reminding the apostles - and by extension us - that the communion we enjoy with one another is a grace of our connection to Christ himself, the Vine. We are nourished by the Vine as we receive Holy Communion, take part in Bible studies, bury our dead, marry loved ones, and celebrate the sacrament of Holy Baptism. It is from these sacramental encounters with Christ as we grow in faith, deepen in relationship with God and one another, and realize the inherent interconnectedness of the planet and all people, that we are invited to live out and make real Christ’s unconditional love for us in Episcopal community.

What is your role here, as a branch of Christ, the Vine? As you reflect on this question, please consider the three budgetary priorities for 2026 and how an increase in your pledge will help Holy Comforter accomplish them wisely and responsibly: Restoring Mary McIntire, Ben Ehrlich, and Marlene Stroud to sustainable compensation in the wake of 2022’s budget cuts, hiring Anna Murphy as the paid youth and children’s minister, and strengthening our cash reserves for the maintenance of our sacred property.

Your pledge is a prayerful estimate of the amount you can give to our community and to God in the next year. It allows us to budget in such a way that we grow from the Vine, and as branches, experience and extend God’s love to even more people.

Every Blessing,

The Reverend Broderick Greer
