5pm. Join us in the Prayer Garden on the east side of the church on Saturday, October 3, at 5:00pm for our annual Blessing of the Animals. Bring your pets, companions, and creatures of every kind as we give thanks for the joy, comfort, and companionship they bring into our lives. In the spirit of St. Francis, we will offer prayers of gratitude and blessing for the animals who share our homes and our hearts.

On Sunday, October 4, at 9:00am, before our regular worship service, we will gather in the Prayer Garden to inter the ashes of beloved animals who have died. This brief service offers a tender way to remember the pets who have been part of our families and to commend them to God’s care with gratitude. If you have ashes you would like included, please bring them with you and join us for this time of remembrance.

In a large, diverse country, legislatures must reach compromises among competing views. Compromise depends on trust, and trust grows through relationships built over time and sustained by civil dealings with one another.

Across our first two Dreaming Sessions, stories returned to Holy Comforter at its best: welcoming people, serving our neighbors, and creating belonging across generations. Looking ahead, we dreamed of a campus alive throughout the week -- a place of worship, refuge, learning, service, and human connection -- with wider outreach, opportunities for young people, care for creation, and thoughtful stewardship.

The Broomfield Sister Cities - Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes affiliate would like to invite you to a free documentary film screening of "People of the Sacred Land: The Untold History of Colorado" on Thursday, Oct. 15, from 6-7:30 p.m., at the Elevations Basecamp Room, 1 Environmental Way, Broomfield.

If you shop early and put your donations in the bin outside the east Maglaras Hall doors now, our volunteers will make sure they get to the guests who need them right away!

Opportunities to Volunteer for the St Francis Center

St. Francis Center is seeking volunteers to help individuals experiencing homelessness at their day shelter. Join other Holy Comforter members on the first Sunday of every month from 8 am to noon to help with the following:

• Washing and Folding laundry

• Sorting Donations

• Stocking Clothing room

• Distributing mail

• Assisting with storage

• and more

The fall session begins Tuesday, September 8, 9:30-11:00 am, Maglaras Hall. The group will study parables of Jesus based on Amy-Jill Levine’s book, Short Stories by Jesus: The Enigmatic Parables of a Controversial Rabbi. Purchase of the book is optional, but participants are strongly encouraged to purchase Short Stories by Jesus Participant Study Guide, which contains summaries of the book chapters and additional materials for reflection. Men's Fellowship took a fun twist this summer, visiting various local golf course clubhouses for monthly breakfast and fellowship. We now shift back to meeting at the church, which will provide a more quiet setting for our breakfast and meetings. Contact Men’s Group.
