Holy Comforter’s 1869 E. & G.G. Hook organ (“The Hook”) turns 150 this year! To celebrate, we have a wonderful slate of music planned throughout 2019. Check out the upcoming music calendar.

Lenten Organ Series

Join us for our annual Lent Organ Series. The series begins on Friday, March 15 with John Murgel, March 22 with Barbara Hulac and ends on March 29 with Norman Sutphin. These concerts are free and open to the public. For more information contact Mary McIntire.

Lifelong Learning

Sundays, March 3 – April 7 at 9:45 in the chapel

It’s Time To…So much of our stress and anxiety derives from our pollution of Time. Recapture time as a gift and discover how to experience the joy of the present moment. Sessions reflect on time to Stop, Pray, Work, Pray and Love. Individuals can sign up to receive daily emails and videos at ssje.org/time. Participants can enjoy individual sessions or series.

Wednesdays, March 13-April 10 at 6 pm in Maglaras Hall

Embracing Spiritual Awakening: Join the Rev. Sandy Grundy for a soup supper and discussion of Diana Butler Bass’ series exploring how Christianity is evolving in our changing culture. This series is a Spiritual and educational journey with participants receiving a workbook for notes and reflections. Topics include: Waking Up; Believing; Behaving; Belonging and Awakening.

From Anti-Judaism to Anti-Semitism: As Holy Week begins, we acknowledge the role of the Church and the Gospel narratives in the perpetuation of Jewish oppression. In exploring the development of anti-Jewish belief we will learn how to walk in love with our Jewish neighbors.

centering prayer

Tuesdays in the Library @ 1:30 pm

Join others in this prayer method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer by preparing our faculties to receive this gift.   Centering prayer is at the same time a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with him.

Men's Group

Every other Thursday in Maglaras Hall @ 6:00 am, September-May

Join us for coffee, breakfast, and an abbreviated Morning Prayer service followed by discussion of the day's reading. This time of prayer, reflection and fellowship helps us grow and deepen our journey with Christ and with each other.

She Matters

She Matters is a fellowship group for women of all ages. The name, "She Matters" reminds us of the importance of every woman, and meetings provide a place to connect and explore topics and ideas that are important to women.
