Advent Quiet Day

Saturday, December 1, 8:30am-12pm

You are invited to join us in Holy Comforter’s Maglaras Hall for a quiet day as we begin our journey through Advent with Teresa of Avila, a mystic for our time. Discover her courage, her sense of humor and her deep love for God.

Our time together will begin with breakfast at 8:30am, followed by a series of three short teachings, interspersed with quiet time, and opportunity for silent prayer, reading, art work, walking or meditation. Our time together will end with Eucharist and we will depart by noon.

Help us fill comfort bags: we will collect items for comfort bags to be given to our neighbors in need. Items needed: warm socks, non-perishable snacks, mints, travel size toiletries, personal hygiene items.

centering prayer

Tuesdays in the Library @ 1:30 pm

Join others in this prayer method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer by preparing our faculties to receive this gift.   Centering prayer is at the same time a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with him.

Men's Group

Every other Thursday in Maglaras Hall @ 6:00 am, September-May

Join us for coffee, breakfast, and an abbreviated Morning Prayer service followed by discussion of the day's reading. This time of prayer, reflection and fellowship helps us grow and deepen our journey with Christ and with each other.

She Matters

Third Tuesdays in Maglaras Hall 6:30 - 9:00 pm, October-May

She Matters is a fellowship group for women of all ages. The name, "She Matters" reminds us of the importance of every woman, and meetings provide a place to connect and explore topics and ideas that are important to women.
