Learning: For Adults

Human beings are created to be in relationship. We believe God desires relationship with every single person, and that connection is nurtured in prayer, Bible study, worship, and honest conversation. Our Sunday worship is the heart and soul of our community. We sing, pray, hear the sacred words of Scripture, listen for a faithful application for today, and partake of Holy Communion. Nourished by Word and Sacrament, we are strengthened for faithful service in our homes and communities. 

The Christian life is simple; it's just not easy. When Jesus was asked to name the most important thing, he said to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Holy Comforter strives to create opportunities to grow in our relationship with God, our neighbors, and ourselves.

Sunday School for Adults!

  • Parenting Support Group: Join Father Bill to find strength, fun and fellowship together, navigating this parenting thing. First Sundays, 12-2pm in the church office.

  • Hymnal 101: Ever wondered why we sing what we sing? What the hymn numbers mean? What songs are sung during different seasons? Join our Music Director, Mary McIntire, for a four week intro to our music. October 15-November 5, 12:15-1pm in the choir loft. Contact Mary McIntire for more info.

  • Bible C.L.A.S.S: Join Dr. Schubert Ogden, retired Professor of Theology at Southern Methodist University for a Closer Look at Sunday’s Scriptures. This lectionary based Bible study will explore historical context and current applications, before experiencing the text in worship. Sundays, 9am in the library, November 5-December 10. Bible Study

Tuesday September 5, in the library 9:30-11am each Tuesday. We will study and reflect on the Gospel of John. Recommend Bible: "The New Oxford Annotated Bible," NRSV by Oxford Press, 4th edition (not required). All are welcome and no prior Bible Study knowledge experience is necessary for the study.
