centering prayer

Tuesdays in the Library @ 1:30 pm

Join others in this prayer method designed to facilitate the development of contemplative prayer by preparing our faculties to receive this gift.   Centering prayer is at the same time a relationship with God and a discipline to foster that relationship. This method of prayer is a movement beyond conversation with Christ to communion with him.

This fun group  of active older adults gathers monthly at a local restaurant  for  food and fellowship. Restaurants and dates vary, so please keep an eye on the e-news or contact Wendy Bangs at 630.309.1174 for upcoming gatherings. 

Men's Group

Every other Thursday in Maglaras Hall @ 6:00 am, September-May

Join us for coffee, breakfast, and an abbreviated Morning Prayer service followed by discussion of the day's reading. This time of prayer, reflection and fellowship helps us grow and deepen our journey with Christ and with each other. We also plan a variety of service projects and the annual Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper.

The Women's Gathering meets on Thursdays from 1-3 pm in Maglaras Hall to knit and crochet hats, scarves, mittens, afghans and more for newborns, those who are ill, and those in need of warmth. All are welcome to join us! Please contact Dotti Moyer for more information.

Altar Guild Conference - September 14

Holy Comforter is a community partner of Growing Home's Canopy Program; which, seeks to provide temporary housing for families with children experiencing homelessness. This is a wonderful opportunity to serve your neighbors-perfect for kids and families, single adults, retirees-all are invited to participate in this important ministry. Learn more.
