Children, Youth & FAmily ministries
Holy Comforter strives to provide a loving and nurturing community that engages young people in a journey of Christian faith, encourages them to understand it, empowers them to learn to live it, and instills in them the confidence to carry the love of Christ to others.
nursery for infants and toddlers
Sundays from 8:15 am-12:15 pm and during some special services throughout the year
We love to hear the sound of children in worship, and we also recognize sometimes parents need a break. We offer professionally staffed nursery care for infants and toddlers, and invite you to stay with them until they feel comfortable.
Our ushers will be happy to show you to our professionally staffed nursery.
During Sunday services and during some special services throughout the year.
For 3-5 year olds, we have "God's Play Place" (Biblical story time and activities) during services in the undercroft, with professional nursery care staff.
kids in PRE-K & elementary school
Our Sunday School uses a Montessori-based curriculum Godly Play to introduce our children to Biblical stories. We create a safe and beautiful space where children are respected as they see, hear and wonder about stories from the Bible or other aspect of our Episcopal tradition. Using hands-on materials and “wondering questions” to reflect on the story together, children then choose from a variety of materials—art supplies, building materials, books, etc —to make their own creative responses, and to help make the stories truly their own.
Godly Play: Kids in Pre-K-2nd grade
God's Explorers: Kids in 3rd-5th grade
An usher or greeter would be happy to show you to the education space, and parents are always welcome to observe.
youth in middle school & High school
Our weekly meetings are designed to give the youth time to have fun together, build a safe and caring community, grow in their knowledge and practice of the Christian faith, examine current events in the context of that faith, and spend time together in worship and prayer. We look forward to these discussions and our time together, as they are just one part of our faith journey. One week each month we go on an "adventure" or participate in a service project, designed to encourage fellowship and service to our community. These meetings and outings are led by our Youth Leader, Tory Moir, and a team of dedicated adults and parents.
