Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the day time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life."
Psalm 42:8 (KJV)
Feast of All Saints’, All Souls’, Saints’ and Angels’, All Hallows’ Day, Solemnity of All Saints’, Festa di Tutti I Santi, La Toussaint – whatever be the name – this coming week we celebrate the Saints in our lives.
Who are Saints? A Saint is one who is a faithful believer. As Christians we are called to be Saints using our talents and our lives to serve others - loving them as God loves us. Saints’ have gone before for us, live among us now and are yet to be.
Who are the Saints in your life that you would like to remember in a special way? I know my list is long - how about yours?
In the next few days at Holy Comforter we will offer you two opportunities to celebrate those who are Saints. On Sunday evening, October 30 at 6:30pm, our wonderful Organist, John Murgel, will present an hour of great organ music at our 6th Annual Music for All Souls concert. The hour will be filled with music we hope will express what autumn brings to the forefront for many of us – loss, fear of the unknown and darkening days; but, also moments of grace that come to us in this transitional season, and the promise of new life to come.
On Tuesday, November 1st at 7:00pm, join us in the Columbarium Courtyard for its dedication. From there we will travel to the Sanctuary for our All Saints’ Choral Evensong - a lovely candlelit service of remembrance.
Taking time to remember the Saints in our lives,
Mary McIntire, Music Director
