"Give as freely as you have received!" Matthew 10:8
This verse really struck me yesterday as I read my daily devotional. I immediately started thinking about that timeless question that Martin Luther King, Jr. asked: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'What are you doing for others?'" God has given us a platform to influence others' lives. Every single person has a gift that can make the world a better place. What are we doing with our gifts?
Each of us has a voice, an action, a thought that we can share with others, with our communities, with our world. God has blessed everyone with that ability, that gift. The key is to share it. If we hold onto our gift, how can we say thank you to God for blessing us with it? If we hold onto our gift, how can we improve this world? God gave freely to us, to improve us. So, how are we giving back?
What are you passionate about? What do you see as injustice? Who do you see that needs love? What do you see that hurts your heart? I have been asking myself these questions over and over again. The next step is to figure out how my unique, innate gifts and talents can answer these questions with action.
Ask yourself these questions, and more...What's your next step?
